Hello- Buenas dias or Buenas tardes

Good Bye- Chao

Thank you- Muchas Gracias

Currency- Chilean peso

Puerto Varas- (September 2008) we entered Chile and the welcome to Chile sign was buried in snow! Which was great cause Joe came to Chile to ski!!! but he won’t be doing that till we reach Pucon- for now we drink pisco sours and looked at the snow cap volcanoes

Chiloe Island– (September 2008) here we took a boat ride to see penguins!!! We visited the markets and joe ate some super fresh seafood

Pucon- (September 2008) oh my gosh this town was beyond gorgeous- there is skiing, snowboarding, hiking, white water rafting, kayaking and all the outdoor activities you can dream of- we chose to hike and ski down Villarrica Volcano

Villarrica Volcano- (September 2008) it takes about 5 hours to climb to the top of this smoking active volcano- in the winter you can ski down- which is exactly what joe did- it was a tough hike but gorgeous- they give you pick axes for the top and pants where you can slide down on your butt if you are not skiing down- you use the pick axe to guide you down – so damn fun! Joe was so pumped to have hiked and ski down an active volcano

Santiago- (September 2008) Chile’s capital and largest city- we ended our trip in Santiago
