Montreal– (January 2015) Living in Vermont we are super close to Canada and explore Montreal quite often. It is only 2 hours away from Burlington. There is a lot of good music and food in Montreal. For sure must walk around Old Montreal. Also visit the Notre-Dame Basilica – they just started doing a cool light show as well – for kids check out the biodome, it has 5 ecosystems and is a kid favorite!! https://m.espacepourlavie.ca/en/mobile/biodome

Montreal– We love attending Igloofest! it last for 4 weekends in Jan/Feb. It is alway sooo cold but so fun!! We also love Osheaga music festival which is usually held in August. Also for kids the Biodome in Montreal- it has 5 different ecosystems and the kids love it. For the sport fans go to a Habs game at the Bell Centre.

Quebec City – (May 2018) 3 hours north of Montreal is Quebec City. Go to Old Quebec – inside the old fortified walls is a UNESCO World Heritage site – walk around and shop and eat everything! Here is our Quebec City video https://youtu.be/Ahbxj4GQmbE

Montmorency Falls– (May 2018) Also head to Montmorency Falls – here you can walk the suspension bridge over the falls or zipline- we chose to do both! The zipline goes right along the falls and feels amazing!! Highly recommend it- book ahead of time and then you don’t have to pay to park – just show your zipline booking info- it’s also a great area to have a picnic and walk around. https://www.sepaq.com/destinations/parc-chute-montmorency/index.dot?language_id=1

Whale Watching– (May 2018) There is also some amazing Whale watching in the St. Lawrence – it is about 3 hours north of Quebec City- we took a Zodiac boat and saw 2 fin whales and pod of beluga whales- it was magical!!! It does get super cold so bundle up- they gave us jackets and pants but I would recommend bringing a warm hat and gloves and face covering as well. The zodiac boat is cool cause you are low to the water but it’s only available for ages 7 and older – for younger kids you have the option of the bigger boats https://www.croisieresaml.com/en/plan-your-cruise/tadoussac/tout/
If you are not able to make it up north for whale watching, Quebec City has an aquarium https://www.sepaq.com/ct/paq/index.dot?language_id=1
